Who We Are

Rural Organizing Initiative (ROI) is a 501(c)4 non-profit corporation operating in Northern Arizona.

Our mission is to promote full participation in democracy by educating communities on how and why their participation has an impact and supporting and promoting candidates for city and county offices who are aligned with our values.

What We Do

ROI focuses on activities that help community members engage with the democratic process, including educating people about civic and electoral processes, registering voters, and coaching potential candidates for local and county offices who are aligned with our values.

Because ROI believes that people learn better when they have fun, we incorporate interactive games and activities into all of our programming.

Why We Do It

The US Government is designed around participatory democracy - which means that in order for democracy to function most effectively, people need to participate. It is easier to participate in a system when you understand how and why it functions the way that it does - and how your specific participation can make an impact.

Democracy works best when everyone participates
