Rural Organizing Initiative (ROI) is a 501c4 non-profit corporation founded with two goals: register new voters and provide support for candidates in local nonpartisan races.

Julie Fernatt
Julie is a seasoned political organizer with a drive to create change. With extensive experience in grassroots organizing and campaign management, Julie has a record of mobilizing communities, building coalitions, increasing voter turnout rates, and creating impacts in rural communities.
Julie is highly skilled in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as community leaders, activists, and elected officials. She is adept at coalition building, bringing together diverse groups and organizations to form a united front in pursuit of shared goals.

Marianna “Llama” Habern
With a keen eye for data and analytics, Llama leverages research and insights to develop targeted and effective strategies. Llama is well versed in using voter databases and technology tools to identify and target key demographics, ensuring maximum impact and outreach. Beyond their organizing expertise, Llama is a passionate advocate for social justice. With a deep understanding of the political landscape, Llama is able to take complicated data and convert it into understandable policy.

Debra Seglund, OT
Driven by her commitment to creating a more equitable society, Debra is dedicated to empowering individuals and communities to raise their voices and effect change.
Growing up in the often prejudicial south and caring for diverse communities in several areas of the country introduced Debra to the social needs of people and the importance of community involvement. Debra works tirelessly to advocate, educate, and support those who have not been able to fully participate in the civic process.
William MacDonald, Esq.
William is a highly experienced and dedicated leader with a commitment to serving rural constituents and improving rural communities. He aims to increase civic engagement in rural America through a combination of outreach and education. With a proven track record of success, and a deep understanding of the political landscape, William is ready to bring expertise and passion to support the work of rural organizing. William is well versed in navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape that govern 501c4’s. As a seasoned legal professional with an understanding of the unique needs of rural communities, William is positioned to lead rural Arizona into a more equitable future.
